One of the most important items of any woman's wardrobe is "the little black dress". So what exactly is it?
The little black dress was made popular by fashion designer Coco Chanel in the 1920's. It is labeled an evening dress but in reality, it can pretty much be worn anywhere. It just depends what accessories you wear with it. For example, in daytime at your place of business, you may want to add a jacket and wear some simple pumps. While in the evening, adorning the dress with ornate jewelry will give it a nice elegant touch. To "qualify" as a little black dress or LBD, the dress does not have to be a specific length.
