Couch to 5K Update

I finished Week 3 of C25K on Saturday. It was tough. The first three minute run was okay. I actually felt pretty good at the end of it. But I barely made it through the second three minute run. I tried to do Day 1 of Week 4 last night but failed miserably! I was just in a bad mood though. I couldn’t zone out and get into the run. I kept thinking about everything that was stressing me out. Week 4 is a three minute run followed by a five minute run, twice. I did the first half, including the five minute run! I was pretty proud of myself for finishing the five minutes straight! But I had to stop for about 15 seconds in the middle of the second three minute run and for about 30 seconds in the middle of the second five minute run. I’m going to try again tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll be in a better mood!

Heidi, Amanda, and I did our first leg day on Saturday. I wasn’t very sore from that. A little and the tops of my inner thighs, but not bad at all. Not anything like after arm day! Today we did our second arm day. We bought some workout gloves so that we won’t get calluses on our hands. I feel a little silly in them though.

I love the guy posing in the background!

After arms we went sat in the sauna for a minute and then we went swimming.  This was our opinion of the sauna:

We had a great 2.5 hour workout!

I added a pictures tab to my page. It has progress pictures and things. Check it out. =)

  1. Good job, way to stick with the running. I know exactly what you mean about how intimidating it is, anticipating the next longer run, and it was always soooo gratifying to DO it! Don’t worry about slowing your pace in order to finish, or even take a short break, just like you did, and start right back up again. It’s funny how some days are easier than others, I wish they were all easy. Do you stretch out after your runs? I was given three tips for running when I started, from a runner who does a 10K almost daily, to avoid injury and make it more pleasurable: get a good supportive sports bra, get good running shoes fitted the first time, and STRETCH! Best advice I ever got. Love the pics!
