Weekly Weigh-in

This hasn’t been a good week. I only went to the gym three times. I went a little over in calories about three days. I’ve just been stressed out this week and really wanted to quite the whole eating healthy thing and eat whatever I want. But I reeled myself in and only splurged a little bit. Still more than I should have though.

So today was weigh in day. I knew that it was going to bad, and that if I did lose, it wasn’t deserved. The scale said 225 lbs. That’s a two pound loss. So I guess I’m pretty happy about it. It’s hard to celebrate an undeserved weight loss though. I am excited that I have officially lost 25 lbs and 10% of my body weight now.

These were my goals last week:

  • Gym 6 times. Arms on Mon./Wed./Sat. Legs on Tues./Fri./Sun. Cardio everyday.
  • Stick to diet.
  • Drink a ton of water.
  • Lose 2 lbs.
  • Finish Week 4 C25K.

The only goal I reached was losing 2 lbs. Like I said. Bad week. My goals this week are similar:

  • Gym 6 times. Arms on Mon./Wed./Sat. Legs on Tues./Fri./Sun. Cardio everyday.
  • Stick to diet.
  • Drink a ton of water.
  • Finish Week 4 C25K.
  • Cook all of my meals.
  • Increase my protein intake to at least 100 g a day. Decrease my sodium to at most 2300 mg a day.
  • Eat a real breakfast each day instead of a Special K Breakfast shake.
  • Go for a run every morning with my dog before breakfast.

I have decided that Weight Watchers is not for me. Weight Watchers allows way to much cheating. If I’m allowed to do it, I’m more likely to do it. I’ve been doing better counting my calories using MyFitnessPal. So I canceled my Weight Watchers subscription. I think that without the temptation of using the weekly and activity points, I’ll be a lot more successful. We’ll see. I’ll try this for awhile and if I feel like I did better with Weight Watchers I can always reactivate my account.

I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day. I’m not a mother, but I have a love/hate relationship with Mother’s Day. Since I work in the restaurant industry, Mother’s Day is a big day for me. The biggest day of the year. We were extremely busy today. I made great tips though! I guess a lot of people assumed I was a mother and felt bad that I was at work because I was getting about triple the normal amount of tips. It was a long, hard day though. So Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s out there, and a shout out to all the food industry people out there.

  1. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Stay motivated and positive. 3 key steps to stay motived: 1. Set Goals 2. Have Fun With It 3. Keep Yourself Accountable
I hope I can help you reach your fitness/health goals through the fitness and health topics I review. I have been using myfitnesspal myself as well and also testing out other gadgets at the moment and will write reviews later. But keep pushing forward!

    1. I’m trying to stay positive, but I also don’t want to reward bad behavior by celebrating an undeserved loss. So far I’m doing better at reaching my goals this week! Looking forward to reading some of your reviews. 🙂

  2. Hey there. Congrats on the loss. It’s a long slog sometimes isn’t it. I just lost the one pound this week. Was expecting to have gained, well, kinda. I’m using myfitnesspal and I think it really works. I’ll think of you as I’m running this week. I’m on c25k week four too. GO US! 🙂

  3. I think MyFitnessPal is a great tool. I don’t use it much anymore since I am a big creature of a habit. I eat the same thing close to everyday. From using this app I know I fit in my guidelines. Good luck on your journey.
